Robert
Mapplethorpe:
The Catalogue Raisonne
With
over 2300 artworks, The Catalogue Raisonne of Editioned
Prints by Robert Mapplethorpe provides the most comprehensive
document of the photographer's career ever published.
Developed in conjunction with the Robert Mapplethorpe
Foundation, the interactive CD-ROM features all of Mapplethorpe's
editioned black & white prints - including his acclaimed
male and female nudes, flowers, celebrities, still-lifes,
and self-portraits - in addition to many of his equally
striking (but less familiar) color prints and collages.
The daring photos which sparked gallery closings and
national debate are also included.
An extensive multimedia presentation features a narrated
artist's biography and video interviews of Mapplethorpe
and his contemporaries. The disc presents related images
in context, including the X, Y & Z Portfolios and the
Season in Hell series, as well as a complete electronic
reproduction of the controversial Perfect Moment exhibit.
