Looking back over the history of our civilization,
human history has been preserved in many forms, between destruction
and rebuilding, between conflicts and compromises. It happens generation
after generation. The Chinese are a people who put much emphasis
on passing down traditions. Over the past four thousand years, successive
imperial houses amassed a vast and comprehensive collection of art
treasures. These historical treasures not only demonstrate the wisdom
and genius of our predecessors, but also tell us a lot of stories.
They build the bridge of understanding between ourselves and those
who came before us.
